Portal 2 Release Date

Though I suggest we take this with a grain of salt, the Portal 2 release date has been nailed down to February 9, 2011. We here at Pixel Well, though not begrudgingly, usually consider Valve's release dates tentative at best. We reminisce fondly of standing around a ping-pong table talking about how cool Half-life 2 would be for, well, ages. Check out this additional gameplay video, where you can hear some of the grand voice acting by Stephen Merchant who plays Wheatly the robot in the game. Lets keep our fingers cross that in a mere couple of months we'll have the new installment securely in our ravenous mitts. Thanks to Game Informer for the news.

Sony’s PlayStation Move

This week has been definitely filled with new items and games from everyone. Microsoft announces their slimmed console along with their motion capture device Kinect, so naturally Sony reveals their latest attempt into the motion capture realm. Sony announced on Tuesday the launch of their new device, Move. Check the details and more pictures after the break.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Here is yet another anticipated game by many out there. E3 has provided us with a debut trailer showing off the new game along with gameplay footage utilizing the Wii motion plus. Author Stephen Totilo over at kotaku had a chance to play the demo at the E3 convention and was overall impressed with the game.

So no complaints on controls, an almost-perfect button layout and a "decent" for graphics. I enjoyed romping through the game's demo and had the most fun at a boss. This game's probably going to be good. No surprise, it's a Zelda.

Microsft’s Xbox 360 250Gb Slim and Kinect

If you haven’t heard already Microsoft announced this past Tuesday the launch of their newest Xbox 360 S model and the long awaited motion capture device Kinect, formerly Natal. Following suit of Sony they have trimmed down the system for a slimmer and sleeker looking console. Some of the new features include a smaller 45nm processor, integrated 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi, 5 USB ports (2 front, 3 back), custom Kinect port, and a larger 250 GB removable hard drive. The Force Unleashed II E3 2010 Trailer

LucasArts has released another Star Wars trailer for you. This time its for the upcoming game The Force Unleashed 2. I'm personally excited for this game after recently playing through the first game. I'm curious as to where the writers are going to take the storyline. It seems that there can only be so much done in the time span between Episode III and IV of the movie series. Also worth checking out is the Force Unleashed II web site. There are no menus but instead take on the appearance as if you are in a bacta tank as a clone.(?) There are several audio files that you can listen in on and a few mini games to unlock memories. Some are flashbacks of the old game while others possible hint to the storyline of the next game. Go on and check out the site here. Make sure to check out the trailer after the break.

The Old Republic: Hope of Alderaan E3 2010 Trailer

Well E3 2010 has officially kicked off today with many new and exciting games on the way. What better way to kick off the excitement then by LucasArts launching a new trailer for their upcoming massive multiplayer game, The Old Republic. The trailer is titled Hope of Alderaan and depicts the planet under invasion by the Empire. Nothing new right? Just make sure you have enough thermal detonators for this action packed trailer after the break.

Red Dead Redemption Launch Trailer

The folks over at Rockstar Games have released this launch trailer for you to drool over while you wait for the game to come out next week. I can't wait to get into this game. Not only does the single player look amazing but the free roaming multiplayer is where it will be awesome. Take a look at the new trailer after the break.

Medal of Honor – Coming October 12, 2010

This trailer is epic. As soon as I saw it I had to post here for everyone to see. The new iteration of Medal of Honor takes the fight to modern day Afghanistan sometime after the attack on September 11, 2001. The new trailer released by EA is titled "Leave a Message" and rightly so. Along with the release of this trailer, EA announced that the game will be heading to shelves on October 12, 2010. New World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Starting Area

And we aren't talking about goblins and worgen. No, instead, Blizzard has finally decided to give the poor trolls their own introductory area. Here's to hoping they do the same for gnomes. Strange that it finally hit after five years, though...

Two Person WoW Mount? Yessir

You might suspect (correctly) that Blizzard is running a business more than creating a game. With myriad soft toys for your consumption and the monthly payments generating a Flying Dutchmen's hull space worth of cash, Blizzard still is not satisfied. I mean, I guess, what would we do? The latest in this line of gears on a steamroller is a new reward for those of you that convince your buddy to play with you. Its the first two-person mount. No joke. You and your buddy can enjoy the fictional aerial torpedo as soon as she/he signs up. I am kind of interested in how it works. Then I remember how much real world XP I lost when I was playing. I'm still questing to make that up.
