You may have heard about the dude that tried to steal Atomic Games’ Breach code from PAX, but the saga continues. Apparently the guy didn’t show up to his arraignment with the Boston Police, and thus a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

It all went down something like this: Justin May seemed to be an average PAX attendee, hovering around the convention floor for awhile. Just a little too long around Atomic Games booth, however, where the game Breach was being demoed. When the time was right (a staff member for Atomic Games going to the bathroom) the delinquent jacked into a company laptop to steal the bytes. Well, apparently a QA tester spotted him and asked him what the deal was, which is when May bolted. He got 14MBs of the 2GBs available.

The police got him one way or another, and after having multiple accounts of his confession, told him he was headed for court. You can guess the rest– trusting that May understood the iron fist of the law, he was released and told to make an appearance. He has since disappeared into the aether. May faces a fine upwards of $25,000 and a nickel in the slammer. Atomic Games have estimated the worth of the gamecode of Breach in the millions. Yes, millions.

My main concern over this event is that Penny Arcade had a rough time with the swine flu at their last convention. I hope this doesn’t weigh too heavily on them this time around. I suppose its a sign to all developers to get some automated shotgun turrets and hungry junkyard dogs at their next boothed event.
