Early last Thursday morning, BioWare took the big leap and announced the start of pre-orders on their website. Though they avoid to actually nail down a release date, speculation is ranging anywhere from October to December. More after the break.

BioWare certainly is flexing their cinematic muscle with their impressive trailers. Again at E3 they demonstrate the unique story of their upcoming MMO, The Old Republic. The trailer released by BioWare is slated to become the games intro cinematic. Check out the trailer after the break. |
LucasArts has released another Star Wars trailer for you. This time its for the upcoming game The Force Unleashed 2. I’m personally excited for this game after recently playing through the first game. I’m curious as to where the writers are going to take the storyline. It seems that there can only be so much done in the time span between Episode III and IV of the movie series. Also worth checking out is the Force Unleashed II web site. There are no menus but instead take on the appearance as if you are in a bacta tank as a clone.(?) There are several audio files that you can listen in on and a few mini games to unlock memories. Some are flashbacks of the old game while others possible hint to the storyline of the next game. Go on and check out the site here. Make sure to check out the trailer after the break. |
Well E3 2010 has officially kicked off today with many new and exciting games on the way. What better way to kick off the excitement then by LucasArts launching a new trailer for their upcoming massive multiplayer game, The Old Republic. The trailer is titled Hope of Alderaan and depicts the planet under invasion by the Empire. Nothing new right? Just make sure you have enough thermal detonators for this action packed trailer after the break. |
Perhaps you’re a little like I am when you look at the Star Wars universe and its incarnations: kind of like watching your favorite plant wither while you do everything you normally have to love it. I mean, the Clone Wars tv show was only cool because sometimes they had lightsabers that sometimes were used like you always want, and also sometimes some characters died. But as a whole there has been a lot of bad output from the Star Wars behemoth. We’ll see another “cartooned” version of Star Wars coming in the Old Republic MMO set to grab your wallet and shake it around like a chew toy. What happened to games like Jedi Outcast? Anyway, enter the Star Wars cantina game. I guess its something like a business management sim with Star Wars characters. Here’s the App store blurb:
Ok, so from the sound of things, we won’t see any Jedi snipping off the limbs of boisterous cantina slime. Why are Star Wars games being dumbed down? Whats funny is I could totally get into this if it was rated teen and had realistic graphics and good dialogue/characters. I guess the content could reflect a high maturity while the graphics are cartooned, but really, whens the last time that happened? We’ve said it before here at Pixel Well and we’ll say it again: give us a realistic, motion controlled Jedi duel game were you can shave off limbs and we would never stop playing it. The Star Wars Cantina game is being developed by THQ and hasn’t had a release date set. More images inside. |
Check out this footage of an upcoming total conversion for Call of Duty 4, swapping out every game element for those of Star Wars heritage. Hopefully there is more than just a few weapons, because otherwise the gameplay looks great. Also, the sound effects are really appealing, if you listen closely. |
